The Arm/Cartridge Matching Myth
Raul, you are a mean one. To say a guy has no common sense? That is really hitting below the belt.
The Arm/Cartridge Matching Myth
My ears have natural frequencies also which interact with the resonant frequencies of the platter, cartridge and tonearm levitating my speaker cables 3 inches off the floor. I don't even need amplifiers anymore the sound just emanates:)
Any Sota Sapphire experts out there?
Lewm, The Sapphire came out long before the SME V. Back in 1981 the trick combo was the Sapphire with a Syrinx PU3 which arguably was the first real modern tonearm. Fat stepped arm tube totally adjustable everything including arm length! Separated...
Any Sota Sapphire experts out there?
Seantock, I got my first SOTA, the original Sapphire in 1981. I have never done anything to it except dust it once in a while. It needs absolutely no maintenance otherwise unless it develops a problem. I still have that turntable and it still runs...
The Arm/Cartridge Matching Myth
The rumble and low frequency resonance also causes Doppler distortion of every other frequency being produced by the woofer.Halcro you obviously can not hear or observe the difference between a properly set up turntable and an improperly set up on...
MOBILE FIDELITY ONE STEP VINYL
Amazing. I just came from Better Records web site. Did you know that none of us are decent listeners because we have not spent "10 years listening 40 hours a week"??? These people will not be in business long. In doctor speak they are totally FOS....
Vinyl woes / cartridge upgrade

Resistors
Thank you Kenjit. I have built lord knows how many crossovers for dipole speakers. There is no where to hide the crossovers so I make them to look like art work. I chose the components that look the best. Good 1% resisters of the same value always...
Cost effective Schumann Resonator
Wow.
The Arm/Cartridge Matching Myth
Thanks Ralph.I just wanted to point out that there are two ways to view the tonearm cartridge "system" From a sonic (electrical) point of view the system is a high pass filter. But from a mechanical point of view it is a low pass filter. It moves ...
Love it when it snows
millercarbon, I totally agree with you but you could put it in a nicer way. There are many very intelligent people who are totally ignorant on the subject of climate science. The problem is that most of them have no idea how ignorant they are. I ca...
Speakers or room
Usually little speakers in a large echo chamber sound tinny so there maybe something else wrong. I agree with the recommendation for a smaller room (or larger speakers and a rug.)
Cartridge misadventures
Loose marbles roll west.
The Arm/Cartridge Matching Myth
I didn't. Ortofon did.
New Vinyl
They are not originals. They are reissues and will never be worth what the originals are.
