Many, many moons ago, after having modified my DQ-10s with a DIY kit that was sold back in the late 70s-early 80s, I decided to bite the bullet and buy a pair of Snell AIIIs. As good as the Dalquist were back then, I thought that the craftsmanship of the Snells was out of this world and the huge soundstage was one to die for. I ended up selling those and bought a pair of AIIIis a couple of years later and owned them up until two years ago. I now own a pair Avalon Opus after being swept up by a used pair of Avalon Eclipse Classics that were bought right here on Audiogon. I guess I'm just a sucker for fine furniture.
