Cartridge setup revisited

I know this subject has been beat to death, but I just had to share this. I know I have a mid-fi setup comparatively to some/most here, but. I got some new magnifiers and a loupe for Christmas. So, I pulled out the old DB Systems protractor and took a look at my cart setup. Well, I could now see that it was off. Not much, but still. So, I tweaked the cart, and got it where I believe it should've been. Put on a familiar LP for a listen. My GF comes out of the computer room, asking "what the hell did you do"? "Just tweaked the cart a little honey". Everything just opened up. Bass, you'd think I added a sub. Soundstage, huge, well..... Much more 3D like.

Amazing. I didn't move things much, just a tiny bit.

So, my suggestion to all, is get some great magnification, light, add re-check the cart alignment.

I'm sold........

I'll bet it is still off. Get a Mint protractor and hear that same kind of improvement still again.

Wow! I didn't know that! .. LOL :-))
Honey .. many here use magnifying glass and the best tractors available from years!
Besides you 'll be more "sold" if you buy a MintLP Best Tractor for your arm and turntable .. as Stringreen wrote above
All I was trying to say, especially to the analog newbies, is check, re-check and check the cart alignment again. As far as a Mint, not sure I could get one for the wooden arm.
