McIntosh Double Box?

Hello,

I've just inherited a C2700. It has the double box.  I need to load it in my car and drive cross country. The larger, 2nd shipping box is HUGE!  If the I keep the item in the original box, will that be good enough to sell and ship it?  I really don't have room for the larger box and just trying to figure how important it is.  I'm in a small town with no resale options here.

How about drive the unit in the interior box and stuff the 2d, shipping box with packing paper or peanuts or bubble wrap —anything to help it keep its rigidity — and UPS it to your home?

Good idea.  It does make it easier to sell down the road.

Break the larger box down, fold it up and pack it in the car ?

@kirkwallace Nice solution, hate it when I have the wrong idea. Yours is… much. 
But again @jimintally makes a good point.
