Talk to me about CAT 6 in wall cable

Sounds very sensible, @daveyf . (But i still like having the fiber moat before the Aurender.) It’s probably over kill, but i also fiber moat my Roon core.

I’m not going to weigh in on which cat of Ethernet to choose, personally, I have double runs of cat 6 cable run to all of the rooms in my house. The reason for this is that in the future, if you have work done in the room, mistakes happen and lines can get damaged and then you’ll have to re run and possibly open up your finished walls again. 
Running double runs of Ethernet cables in your 1 room is relatively inexpensive to do when the walls are open.

One more tidbit, if your going to use PoE++ or PoE+++ then cat6a might be better.
PoE means Power over Ethernet and is used to power downstream devices without having to plug the device into an electrical receptacle.  Power is sent over the ethernet cable to the device that is capable of using it.

Yes, cat6a is more expensive but is also more "future proof", at least in our lifetimes.  Also, consider the speed your internet service provider (ISP) provides to you residence.

Thanks @germay   Nice summary.  I don't know why anyone would not want to use a 'better' cable for audio.  We (I) are always looking for improvements in our sound.  EZ to do once, hard to replace.
