SoulNote - anyone with experience with this brand?

Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience or have feedback on products by SoulNote in particular their E2 phono amp. From the specs it appears the E2 has everything needed in an analog system. It has the ability to set almost any curve ever used by vinyl producers, though it may not be very useful if you are only buying new vinyl. In addition to the standard MM and MC inputs it also has an input for optical cartridge and it seems they work closely with DS Audio on this. It’s impedance matching on inputs are similar to other manufacturers and has lots of gain on MC to compare well with competing products.

I am particularly interested in the sound quality from the E2, the support from the manufacturer in case there ever are any problems and if there are any sonic or integration issues with the phono amp. My system consists of a Transrotor turntable, Reed 1X arm with Koetsu Rosewood Signature, VTL 5.5 pre, Vitus Audio RS101 power amp driving Magico S1 speakers. I currently use a ModWright phono amp and want to experience a solid state phono amp.

Thanks.

2 grains of salt or a grain of salt - to me it simply means that the their opinion is not truth for all, rather it was their personal opinion based on their subjective sonic preferences experience.  It doesn’t mean your are wrong.

I own an A-2 integrated in my vacation home.  I think it is a great value in a crowded market space.  Sounds sweet and smooth.

I use a pair of the Soulnote D-2 DACs in monoblock mode for my main system. Very happy with their sound. Previously I've had Mola Mola, Meitner, Esoteric, and others of that caliber, the Soulnote is right up there with them.
