My parallel thought is that both speakers would work nicely in many of same rooms, but the later CS3.7 with breakthrough tech would shine brighter. However, in a larger room or higher amplitude the 3.7 would fill a space that the model 2 (any iteration) would not fill. The model 2 midrange, woofer and passive radiator simply move much less air than the model 3 (any iteration). On the used market, a higher model can sometimes be bought for similar money to a lower model.
