Is anyone still using a CD Player

I have a bunch of CDs and the Krell 505 player.  I find myself defaulting to my Aurender Streamer and never listening to CDs.   I’m considering getting a CD Ripper and loading them via HSD or SSD card and loading into the Aurender.  Thoughts?  Am I in the dark ages even keeping the CD Player?

I continue to play CD's but mostly I use a NAS with my ripped collection.  I have all my CD's and continue to buy more, both new and used.  With my previous Luxman system I had a matching CD player, but it eventually quit working.  I used my computer to rip all my CD's to a NAS.  I have a Naim Uniti Star which has an integrated CD player, so I use that from time to time.  Gave all my vinyl to my son.

I use a Marantz 30n SACD player for 80% of my listening time. And 80% of that is SACd’s.

Just a year ago, I bought a brand new Cambridge Audio CXC Transport and Cambridge Audio DAC when my Nakamichi CD player finally gave up the ghost.  So no, I don't think you are living in the Dark Ages.

I primarily listen to vinyl -- I've been collecting that media for almost 60 years.  But I also listen to CD's and Stream out of convenience.  I listen mostly to Progressive Rock, Prog Metal, and Post Rock.  Many of the new artists I discover don't have the funds to cut a vinyl release, so they release CD's or stream their music.  By buying their CD's, I'm at least helping them make some money -- streaming services pay them squat.  I also enjoy having physical media -- something to look at and liner notes to read while listening.  Last but not least, with physical media I can still listen to my music if the network goes down, a streaming service drops the artists, or the EMP finally hits...

I use a Cambridge Audio CXU Darbee Edition universal BluRay player because I play DVD audio, Blu-ray, SACD, and CD discs.  I bought the player when my Oppo died, and Oppo stopped making universal disc players.

CD’s and hi res discs sound better than streaming IMO.  I also have most of my discs ripped and can play them through Roon.

I have a couple hundred CDs mostly from the no vinyl era, with things that are hard to find on vinyl, so yes I still have a CD player.
