Does anyone have a digital system that is as involving as their analogue front end?

I have both albums and like them both a lot. They did a super job of recording and pressing, despite the background noise. "Waltz for Debbie" was recorded with "Sunday At the Village Vanguard." They had too much material for one record and so made two. There are one or two cuts of pieces also on "Kind of Blue." They were written by Bill Evans. He was a brilliant composer.

Can you play around with capacitance? I have that adjustment on my Pass phono stage. I have read that with a moving coil cartridges capacitance should be set to 100 and left alone. I have found it makes a difference, however. I eventually set mine at 200 when my VPI Shyla broke in.  The cartriidge was a tad too bright and it settled down at the 200 setting.

@audio-b-dog I think you’re referring to impedance. I have my phono stage set to 220ohms now. Capacitance has no impact with moving coil cartridges.

I am absolutely talking about capacitance. All my previous phono stages (mostly ARC) set the capacitance and the user cannot change it. On the Pass Labs XP-25 there is a capacitance knob as well as impedance. Mine is set at 160. I have also heard that capacitance does not affect a moving coil cartridge. But I have a moving coil cartridge and it does affect it. I finally set it at 160. While the cartridge was breaking in, I set it at a higher level. But if you don't have a way of changing it, then it doesn't matter.

The liner notes will say that Miles Davis wrote the songs. Bill Evans composed most of the album and Miles Davis took the credit. I think I got that information looking up Bill Evans on Wiki. Or perhaps talking about the album with chatgpt. Also, I may have watched a documentary on Bill Evans and learned that there. He was a brilliant composer. Miles Davis had him composing a lot. Apparently he was a modern day jazz Mozart who could kick out compostions quickly.
