you can paint any car a beautiful Pearl for under $20 k
That's crazy! Who would pay $20,000 to paint a car?

Wilsons new flagship
Maybe I am getting old but Wilsons new flagship $780k and they feel it is justified,
lit gets better if you want custom paint $110,000 they said it takes 2 days to paint both speakers, Jays audio lab commented and I think it was way too much and
$110k for $300 in paint is nuts that is truly taking advantage of everyone with wealth, imo only an idiot would pay that. I guess nothing should surprise me any more !!
Having heard the top of the line Wilsons over the years. Sonically they are incredible. Not my cup of tea... but they are fun to listen to. From a performance point of view they deliver. Clearly if you can't afford them, then you should vote by not buying them. Having had a similar paint job to an Earl Scheib about thirty years ago, I can attest to the super cheap paint jobs as terrible looking, unless you stand a couple hundred feet away. |
I don't have an issue with $780k for the speaker even if they don't produce their drivers but as long as their R&D was invested in the sound.
I do have issues with a $110k paint + the job when a finished Mercedes cost less. I painted two cars for $2k and $5k.
I also think exposed bolts is a bit behind the curve. B&W has hidden bolts plus a curved cabinet. I suppose you could argue the bolts compliments the industrial look. |
Correct, they are paying in part for exclusivity, and some are demonstrably willing to spend extremely large sums to attain it. |
