Wilsons new flagship

Maybe I am getting old but Wilsons new flagship $780k  and they feel it is justified,

lit gets better if you want custom paint $110,000 they said it takes 2 days to paint both speakers, Jays audio lab commented and I think it was way too much and

$110k for $300 in paint is nuts that is truly taking advantage of everyone with wealth, imo only an idiot would pay that. I guess nothing should surprise me any more !!

@audioman58  Come on guys!!!  Are you kidding me?  Who in the heck really cares what the heck Wilson Audio, or any other speaker, amplifier, component etc. manufacturer charges for their top-of the-line products?  That's like me going around complaining to my friends about the astronomical prices Ferrari charges for for supercars Lol!!!!  Really?  What does that have to do with me, or you?  We can't even sniff those exorbitantly high prices, so why even give it a second thought or stress yourself out over it?  I guess everyone has to have something to whine and complain about, even if what we're whining about does not effect us in any way shape form or fashion.  And that includes Jay of Jay's Audio labs who, I've noticed, has lately made whining and complaining about the high end audio industry is business.  Super high-end, mega, Jay of Jay's Audio Labs new spiel is to try to convince you that he's Mr. everyman Lol!!!  Happy listening.

My main point was $110,000 to paint a pair of speakers from new .

you can paint any car a beautiful Pearl for under $20 k

that’s my point How can you have any type of fairness to throw $300 worth of paint

and 2 days labor for $110k is becoming the Twilight Zone !!

you can paint any car a beautiful Pearl for under $20 k

That's crazy! Who would pay $20,000 to paint a car?

Having heard the top of the line Wilsons over the years. Sonically they are incredible. Not my cup of tea... but they are fun to listen to. From a performance point of view they deliver.

Clearly if you can't afford them, then you should vote by not buying them.

Having had a similar paint job to an Earl Scheib about thirty years ago, I can attest to the super cheap paint jobs as terrible looking, unless you stand a couple hundred feet away.

I don't have an issue with $780k for the speaker even if they don't produce their drivers but as long as their R&D was invested in the sound.

I do have issues with a $110k paint + the job when a finished Mercedes cost less. I painted two cars for $2k and $5k.

I also think exposed bolts is a bit behind the curve. B&W has hidden bolts plus a curved cabinet. I suppose you could argue the bolts compliments the industrial look.
