Need speaker cable recommendations ...

Anyone have experience with speaker cables for Lexicon MC-1, EAD Powermaster and Dunlavy Aletha speakers. The usage will be 50/50 HT/music. I am happy to buy used, and would prefer to limit the cost to no more than $500. I need 10 ft length. Some threads suggest simply going to Home Depot or Radio Shack. Kimber Kable 8-TC seems to pop up on many threads. I am bleary-eyed from reading the Dunlavy "Cable Nonsense" threads and see points on both sides regarding the Z-6. I understand the final decision is personal preference, I'd simply like to know if others have gone down a similar path and where they ended up. Thanks.

Bi-Wiring rarely yields better results. Active Bi-amp on the other hand is a different story. It's usually best to purchase the best single cable you can and buy good quality matching jumpers. The metal plate or jumper that normally comes with speakers is usually very cheap. Mine was a gold plated brass plate. Brass is a terrible conductor compared to copper. I purchased my speaker cables silver matching jumpers instead.

You do realize this is a near 25 year old thread.  @newtohifi could be welcoming a third grandchild or be halfway through serving a life sentence for vagrancy in Scottsdale.

Oh, just in case, I like Cullen Cable speaker wires.

I rarely recommend a Brand, but do suggest Wire Type when it comes to Cables.

PC Triple C Wire is used in Cables from Brands that can extend to thousands of Dollars to purchase.

The Link is directing to a Speaker Cable using PC Triple C that, if bought, remains comfortably within the suggested budget, even with shipping and an import levy added.
