What type of cables make the most difference

What type of cables, in your subjective experience, makes the most difference? I’m not focusing on brands, but rather, on type, ie, speaker cables, power cables, analog interconnect, digital interconnect, and anything else I may have omitted. If you don’t think cables beyond a base level of competency makes a difference that’s fine too.

Cable importance order:

  1. Power
  2. Speaker
  3. Interconnect

Iconoclast order of importance:

  • 1st speaker
  • 2nd analog - XLR
  • 3rd analog - RCA
  • 4th digital

Note: quality of one’s power source matters

Personally, I purchase cabling only to the point of not being the weak link of my audio chain.

The cable feeding the transducer - speakers or headphones - makes the most difference ime. Silver (solid) vs copper also makes the most sonic difference here, over exotic geometries and marketing hype.

I have some nice expensive PCs and am pretty sure I can hear their impact on power amps in particular, but at the end of the day I’m also happy to run stock PCs. ICs fall between the PCs and SCs in impact.

It depends... as always, but in general.

Speaker

Amp Power Cord

Interconnects closest to the source

Interconnects further from the source

The rest of the power cords

Then Vibration control speakers.

Vibration control turntable,

then amp, and other components.

Always had the biggest changes with interconnects.

All the others makes difference aswell.
