I've got Grandchildren off the age where they are now listening to music through their phones with earbuds. It is easy for me to buy into the HiBy FC1, under the guise that I can improve the listening experience for the G'kids.
I don't see buying something like this as a waste; I see it as a purchase that will be an item I investigate prior to my passing it to G'kids, to see how it works with the listening experiences created.
I have just purchased a SS DAC, as my first SS DAC owned. My system's DAC is a Valve DAC. I am keen to listen to a full SS digital system bypassing any Valve equipment I own. A hybrid system will also be trialled as well.
Curiosity is a two-edged sword, and in this case, when the SS DAC is fully assessed, I would really enjoy learning how a very affordable device offering a near equivalent fundamental function compares. Why Not?
Obviously, If a purchase is made of a HiBy FC1, I would really like to see it be a reasonable description of the OP's experience.
A friend who owned extremely expensive headphones and also built headphones that surpassed expensive branded models, ventured into a period of trials of very affordable headphones, where the price was not above £50. Using user reviews and their own knowledge, they discovered by chance a headphone they claimed to be exceptional value for money and capable of creating a very positive impression. A headphone they were willing to recommend. Why can't this be the case with a Digital conversion?
