@dekay, thanks for getting my morning started with this great post, absolutely love where this might lead and I will respond in kind but need to give this one some thought. WTS can't wait to see other peoples' responses. I had to go back and watch the Do it my way scene, memory had me thinking it was Iggy, but Oldman was great. Enjoy the music
Favorite/dumbfounding music scenes in movies/TV series.
A few days ago I recorded/watched this movie (well most of it anyway) mainly due to Summer reruns on our cable-TV provider.
After being welmed/overwelmed by "the scene" I Googled it to discover that the actor played/sang the song in the movie hisself.
I never payed much attention to Hall & Oats when they were on the air decades ago but when I listened to a band (Fritz and the...) doing a version of "Sara Smile" on "Daryl’s Place" I started revisiting their song library - posting about it here - I think.
Anyway, this is a Killer version of an otherwise good song, IMO.
One of my other favorites is the "Do it My Way" scene from "Sid and Nancy" that I used to play when I got home from work in the 80’s in order to relax.

Correction: "Sara Smile" was performed by Fitz and the Tantrums (not Fritz...) on Daryl Hall’s show. Always been bad with names. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjt7SRyBk0I&t=6s

The song that launched the artist Rumer was "Sara’s Smile". She actually sang it with Daryl on his show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqZueHdXjb8 (LOVE that show! The episode at Christmas with Shelby Lynne is one of my favorites). |
