Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

Can we have an update on all things Thiel Renaissance to kick off Summer?

Thank You For All That You Do!

Happy Listening!

@jonandfamily Great looking room and system! That makes at least 3 of us driving CS2.4s with an Ayre AX-5 🔥

Thanks @beetlemania! I downsized from a CS3.6 system in a medium sized playroom to the CS2.4s in smaller bedroom converted to soundroom. The Ayre is definitely a match for the Thiels.

The CS 2.4 are tough to beat. I broiught my pair into listening room tthis weekend and it brings a smile to my face when I listen to them.

One of the best bargains in audio for sure.
Enjoy!

JA and all - since this update is somewhat nebulous, I’ll start with a grounding summary.

When we all met in 2018, it was for my assessment of the health and interest of the Thiel community. This site was my only input, since I find social media a tremendous drain on productivity. You folks provided a positive experience on which to base further investigation. I set about exploring whether I could bring any meaningful value to the Thiel equation. That process yielded a ’yes’ answer; and I proceeded to secure the residual IP of the company I had co-founded and grown for its first 20 years.

In 2018 my workspace was a 4000+ sqft building on 3 levels. Along with my premium tonewood enterprise, I had built out a sound studio and a respectable prototype shop. That capacity supported my decision to dedicate myself to a possible Thiel Renaissance venture. The unpredicted happened in 2021 when the building was sold with 60 days for me to vacate. The turmoil still persists. I landed in a marginally suitable rented space which lasted until spring 2025 with the announcement of pending sale and my loss of lease. This past year has been dedicated to building out a serviceable studio-lab in the basement of my abode. That space is now functional. Although plenty of work remains, I have tuned the listening space well enough to work well enough for my research and development work. That is a welcome relief.

In the background, we have formalized an LLC with seasoned Thiel Audio employees, plus continued outsource collaborations with various partners. Those collaborations are yielding truly exciting outcomes. We are developing new solutions to a level of performance never approached by Jim’s work. All his work remains the foundation with our further work augmenting performance toward more advanced performance/cost plateaus. High value at higher performance.

I’l sorry I don’t have more definitive news, but there is nothing that can be announced until its time has come. Rest assured that what you need to keep your Thiels in operation is being re-developed such that the new Renaissance technologies will have a solid and secure foundation on which to grow.

I now get time in the lab nearly every day!

Best regards,

Tom
