Isolation recommendations for my Pathos Inpol2 MkII, heavy Class A integrated amp (38kg)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on a suitable isolation solution for my integrated amplifier.

Amplifier:

Pathos Inpol2 MkII

  • Weight: ~38 kg\84lbs
  • Class A operation
  • Hybrid design (tube input stage + solid-state output)

Current situation:

The amp is placed on a solid rack, but I’m exploring dedicated isolation to:

  • reduce structure-borne vibration
  • improve bass definition and control
  • lower noise floor / improve clarity
  • preserve dynamics and timing (no overdamping)

What I’m trying to avoid:

  • over-damping (loss of bass attack and dynamics)
  • “softening” or slowing the presentation
  • unstable or overly compliant supports that affect imaging

What I’m considering:

  • dedicated isolation feet or pods (spring or hybrid designs)
  • possibly platform-based solutions if better suited for heavy Class A gear

I’m open to both high-end and more cost-effective solutions, but I want something that is properly engineered for heavy components and does not compromise transient speed.

I considered a solution by EPV but at 1200$ for a set, I decided I still need an extra  kidney.
Would appreciate recommendations based on actual experience with heavy amplifiers of this type.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I would first try Audio Points with coupling discs as well. Stillpoints might of course work better but they are not inexpensive. Another approach - just leave it as it is, I understand it sounds good already.

I got 24 Stack Audio AUVA EQ's under my rig and the AUVA 100 speaker footers. They made a transformation in my situation.

Get the platform with the Audio Points, otherwise known as LiveVibe platforms. I have a few you can see in pictures of my system and yes, they work: Tightens bass and the soundstage gains clarity, focus and separation.

Around 1k for the Rhythm Jr.s depending on which option you choose:

Stack Audio makes great isolation and noise reducing accessories, my next purchase is most likely AUVA 100’s. If they have a new platform I am sure it would work well also.

@triskadecaphobic in my experience with different pucks and springs, they affect the sound and there is almost always a compromise.
If you can use an amp stand, solidsteel is excellent. By moving the amp out of the rack you don’t just isolate the amp, you isolate other components from the EMI the amplifier power transformer radiates. The result is what you’re looking for - no smearing, better clarity and dynamics.
I use these in my system for the integrated, DAC and even turntable.

@audphile1  I am getting the S3 -2 shelf rack to house my ss amp and tube amp (when it arrives) for easy wire changing.
