I’m a traveler, all 50 states and 50 countries so far. I agree with the comments about traveling for new experiences away from my normal life.
Like most audiophiles I’ve spent a lot of time and expense building a system that I’m proud of and enjoy immensely (can be seen on this forum). However, I would draw the line at having a fellow traveler tinkering with my system with me not being there. I just couldn’t fathom it!!
However, I could certainly entertain the idea of belonging to a network of audiophile travelers who would want to come visit my home and share a listening experience from my system with food, wine, beverages, etc.. That I would welcome and in my presence would be allowed to handle the equipment to get the experience. No problem!
I rent airbnb’s every year while traveling but I find that the rental homes and townhouse airbnb’s are supplied with only the essentials for a stay. Very basic furnishings and supplies, Which is fine because I’m visiting and not moving in, but none are equipped with audiophile worthy systems. I can’t imagine swapping my home which has artifacts that I’ve bought from all over the world that potentially could be broken or taken. A lot of the artifacts are irreplaceable as some countries I will never visit again.
If you’re visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, “Come on down!!” I live 10 minutes from Napa Valley…
