Have you ever thought it would be cool to have a stereo reviewer come to your house?

I should explain further that break in or "settling" of cables plays no part in the comparison process. I assembled identical systems, which I discuss in the book, in order to informally test break in, warm up, isolation devices, and other tweaks. 

The results of testing showed that these are insipid, yea, even ineffectual, methods that actually hold the audiophile back from advancing their system more significantly. 

No more than any other enthusiast. 

Who cares what they think?   Everyone got an opinion.

I sent the a note to Jim Austin, editor of Stereophile Magazine, on FB note asking this very thing a couple weeks ago.  I have not heard back, but then FB probably isn’t the best place to ask.  I didn’t want to go through their methods of e-mail.

These guys have listened to countless systems ranging from pedestrian to all the way up.  I’m sure that they could offer some constructive criticism on improving things. 

Besides, they’ve never done article on what a hobbyist could do using Craigs List/eBay sourced parts.  I want them to see the room, lack of treatment, lack of high end equipment, home made additions using a 3D printer, and what can be accomplished for little coin.  I want to blow their minds!
