Best concert you've attended

Mine is The Doobie Brothers, at the Civic Center in Amarillo Texas, in 1976. I was 16 years old.

The weed smoked all around us was good  too.

2 very different concerts:

Igor Stravinsky conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra in Persephone, Hill Auditorium, University of Michigan Ann Arbor, May 3, 1964

The Righteous  Brothers and the Shirelles, at corporate meeting in suburban Chicago, approx. 1985

@tomcarr At 16, my first concert was The Cure at Dodger Stadium in 1989.  That was the first time I had ever smelled weed.   I had no idea what it was, had to ask my friend's older sister.  Of course, she knew and she explained to me why I and my friend felt so sleepy.

Hmmm. Probably the Grateful Dead in 1993. I’ve never seen 20,000 people experience that much joy.  Honorable mention to the Vulfpeck show I saw at Red Rocks last summer.

I saw Bud Shank, Dennis Budimir and some other LA studio cats, with Yehudi Menuhin and Ravi Shankar in Ojai around the same time. Menuhin and Shankar were doing some "East Meets West" records back then.

Chris Botti at McCarter Theatre in Princeton back in the 2000s.  What a well practiced showman;  Great interpretation of Look of Love.

Brad Mehldau at the Village Vanguard in NY back in the late 1990s.  Intense and artful.
