Need some help shipping speakers

I recently found a pair of speakers I’ve been wanting for years. Unfortunately, they’re about 1000 miles away. Great price, great condition, great seller but just a little too far away for a road trip.

The seller is an elderly gentleman who can’t help in any way, but is willing to accommodate me once the money is paid (yes I know there’s risk buying speakers sight unseen and not unheard but the price is too good to pass up, and I’m willing to roll the dice).

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a company that would come to his house crate up the speakers and ship them to me? I’ve heard some happy ending stories over the years, but never really paid much attention to the detail.

Thank you for any advice you can give me!

I recently flew from Arizona to Florida, bought a pair of speakers and drove them back. I won't trust any shipping company with expensive/heavy speakers. 1,000 miles is not that bad. Fly one way, rent a minivan like a Chrysler Pacifica (great interior space and gas mileage) and drive it back.

I used C&F over 20 years ago to go to a home in Southern California and pickup a pair of ML CLSiiz’s. They crated and shipped them to me. Shipping time was 3 days. I highly recommend C&F!

Every good deal seems to involve a certain amount of leg work (free labor) if there is such a thing (maybe retirement) on one part or the other. The cheap one way flight and van/sedan based on size is probably the cheapest option and if you can do 90mph that makes for about a 12 hour trip with fuel and burger stop.
