What if there were no more new speaker models?

So you have your speakers and you're happy and satisfied. and you have no desire for a change.

How would you feel if they never produced another new speaker model?  Do you live for the day when you can buy a better speaker?

if they stopped introducing newer models, would they still continue to produce existing speaker models or would all the speaker companies go out of business?  They must continue to advance what they do otherwise they have no future, sort of like the need for technology advancements.  Curiously, toasters are still basically the same as they were 50 years ago except now with fancy displays.  But they are still producing toasters.

Maybe this bodes well for the future of the speaker business.

Are they able to continue to produce speakers that somehow are better than the previous speakers? Will this ever stop? Is anyone excited about new speakers that have been created within the past couple years? What is it that they continue to do to justify continuation of producing newer speaker models that somehow are better?

Why is there demand for newer speaker models? What is it that's being done that makes the speakers better than they were last year? Does anyone know? are the new hi-fi shows each year getting more and more boring to go to? Or more exciting to go to?

The same reason that neck ties change sizes or collars on jackets change.

A good example is golf equiptment. The balls and clubs have been at maximum distance for years now. If they go any further they are banned/disqualified. Yet the marketing experts continue, each year, to tell the public that "these clubs are the best/longest ever". Since the clubs are maxed out they resort to exotic looking finishes and 'must have' space age materials. The unfortunate reality is that they really won't improve your game any more than last years clubs did. They'll have you believe they will.

Marketers don't have to show proof of performance. They say whatever they want to convince you to buy. One of the tricks used is a high price tag. If it costs that much it MUST be better.  A world full of suckers will fall for it.

Is the toaster really any better than 50 years ago??? Maybe worse. Cheaper parts with planned obsolesence. It makes toast until it doesn't. That's it!

I've got another 20–30 years on this planet. Love m current speakers (Pearlacoustics Sibelius). I see no reason to ever change that and speakers should last that long.

I think everyone eventually gets bored of everything. A better model instead of attempting to afford the single most expensive speaker/amp you can is to buy several that you can rotate in.

I have a sunbeam toaster that was made around 1960 and it still works fine and it’s design is far better than anything currently available.

It has a bimetallic sensor that detects the temperature of the toast, and this means I can put a frozen piece of toast in and it’ll come out when it’s ready. Further I don’t have to touch anything I just drop the slice in it and it automatically goes down and then rises when it’s done.

Current day models and I tried to look for one once, basically suck they are just heating elements and timers nothing terribly creative. Even though some of the models are extremely expensive with very cool looking displays.
