Pure Audio Project Quartet 15

Pure Audio  has released their new flagship here, and I was, of course, wondering if the upgrade was worth the expense.  I've had open baffle speakers previously, not to mention the Dick Olsher Basszilla Diamond Editions I spent a year putting together, with the Lowther DX4 midranges (I still have those) and the 16 inch Eminence woofer in the bass reflex cabinet, running off an 2A3 amp I built myself, that was likely the best setup I ever had.  Times change. I have KEF Reference 7 speakers now with KEF 62 subwoofers and it sounds great in my 22x15x8 space. Still, you don't get that big sound this way. Does this make any sense?  There's no way to audition these things, of course.  It would be very nice to have that big soundstage only large speakers can give you.  Amp no prob: I have a lovely Pass Labs INT50 they can take from my poor dead hands {!}.  What would you do?  The Pure Audio Project thing has me interested, but there is, of course, no way to audition it. Advice is generously welcome!

Pass Labs INT50? Not familiar with that amp, please verify model.

About 10yrs ago, I started building my first high-end audio chain from scratch. My strategy was to listen to the very best I can find, then try to recreate at home within budget. So I demoed at many audio stores and audio shows like AXPONA.

There are many great sounding speakers, but very few “resonated” with me (sit down, and get lost in the music). I’m a Magico and YG fan.

Speaker Sonic preference is highly subjective, I love Magico and YG, but I never found Wilson engaging.

You ask for help choosing without listening, but listening is THE KEY to choosing the right speaker that personally subjectively resonates with You.

But if you must buy without trying, there’s a fair chance that you’ll find the PAP satisfactory as it’s not a polarizing (love or hate) speaker.

Friend has a set of the older Trio 15’s with the Voxativ driver. Great sounding speakers some of the best OB’s I’ve heard. I was interested in them but being an Israeli company I’ll pass.

I recently moved from large OB’s to Magico and wont be going back.

Ok, I'll ask. What's the problem?
