Pure Audio has released their new flagship here, and I was, of course, wondering if the upgrade was worth the expense. I've had open baffle speakers previously, not to mention the Dick Olsher Basszilla Diamond Editions I spent a year putting together, with the Lowther DX4 midranges (I still have those) and the 16 inch Eminence woofer in the bass reflex cabinet, running off an 2A3 amp I built myself, that was likely the best setup I ever had. Times change. I have KEF Reference 7 speakers now with KEF 62 subwoofers and it sounds great in my 22x15x8 space. Still, you don't get that big sound this way. Does this make any sense? There's no way to audition these things, of course. It would be very nice to have that big soundstage only large speakers can give you. Amp no prob: I have a lovely Pass Labs INT50 they can take from my poor dead hands {!}. What would you do? The Pure Audio Project thing has me interested, but there is, of course, no way to audition it. Advice is generously welcome!
