Mono Blocks / why are they not more prevalent? + Wyrded4Sound SX1000R

I am just learning about mono-blocks, and if they provide the benefits claimed why are they not used by more  audiophiles? I  am looking for a used Wyred4Dound Sx1000R- any  thoughts?

Stereo amplifiers have gotten a lot better. Although I prefer monos because of the separate power Transformers which I think is a good thing. And maybe the noise is better. Nobody likes to live in an apartment because of the noise. Although maybe synchronization if everything is under one roof might be better in the current stereo amps. I don’t know. 🤷‍♀️

It’s really cool to have two amplifiers. and you get an opportunity to spend twice as much on really nice power cords.

I am a purist. I think that’s a religion. and who questions their faith.

Personally I don’t think you will hear a  bit of difference unless it’s the only way to get the watts/current you need.

Like all things audio… the real world of YOUR situation may not advocate for the purely theoretical and sometimes allure of monoblocks.

for most people this is a 3 way trade between the sonic advantage of much shorter speaker cables vs added casework and transformer expense and likely ground potential issues.
