Recent Roon Update

If you are using a 432evo as your Roon server, do not install the latest Roon update, it will brick your server.  I hope 432evo comes up with an update soon that will rectify this situation, but until then I can't use my Aeon server.

That sucks. Any way to back the update out and restore the previous version?

@audphile1 none that I know of, you can't even get to the Roon settings on the  APP until it finds your server.  Apparently the 432evo is based on an older Linux OS (Fedora I think) that Roon no longer supports, at least that is what someone on the Roon forum told me.

So until someone at the company comes up with a solution, I will have to either wait, or change my Aurender N20 over to my Roon server.  Right now I am using my N20 with their Conductor APP until someone comes up with a fix, or I may end up changing my Roon server over to the N20 just to be able to use Roon again.

Never having Roon, I don’t understand the fascination. To me it’s like it was the first car on the block. Now there are like 20 cars to choose from. Why does one still get stuck on Roon. I am truly just wondering 💭.

@vandy357 N20 can’t be a Roon server. It can only be a roon endpoint.
you can install Roon on any computer that has a compatible operating system.
In your case the N20 using conductor should sound at least as good as it does as a Roon endpoint and even better due to conductor proprietary processing.
