Here is a perfect solution to the great cable debate:
1. Buy whatever cables make you happy.
2. Don’t waste your time fretting over which cables someone else chooses to buy.

Amir of ASR admitted 1 cable sounded better than the other. NOT CLICKBAIT
There is a recent thread inquiring about the Puritan PSM156, and someone lead to another product the Niagara 1200. Long story short. I come across a review of Amir admitting the "Generic" cable sound better than the Audioquest chain.
If 1 cable can sound better than another, and Amir has admitted to it. Is there really anything left to discuss except that we have been right all along?

I like the suggestion below but would amend it:
1. Ask yourself if you're willing to spend money on cables rather than something else (audio or otherwise) if you would fail a blind listening test with the cables in question. If the answer is yes,

@kerrybh The cable debate is no longer about cables. Sure you get a lot of people that say "all cables sound the same". But there are a lot of the same people that say all dacs are the same, just 1s and 0s. And all amplifiers are the same, all amplifiers should be absolute neutral like the Hypex class D and have no voice of its own. We know all of these to be false. Borderline ridiculous actually. Topping dacs somehow keep getting "better" despite being obsolete in measurements many products ago. Which makes no sense. And it's not just Topping. Hypex perfected the measurements but has released newer and "better" modules. The Hypex Nilai is also touted as being better. The measurements for these products have far exceeded human audibility but somehow keeps sounding better after every new release. Someone make this makes sense. |
