Oh, wow. Thank you to many...

Friends, I have enjoyed reading countless threads and I have learned so very much from your experience.

Well, someone once commented the source maters the most.  Well, I have filthy sources. Old records, smudges etc.

I picked up the Humminguru EZ spinner and the HumminGuru Nova.  The difference in playback on my modest (but beloved) Sansui SR-717 was absolutely magical.  The detail was so much greater.  The backgrounds were so much darker.

Oh - and I pulled my speakers out from the wall.... NIRVANA

My parents had a record player.  It was terrible. I never bought into the my vinyl is better than your CD.  I am not sure I do now.

What I do know is this: the cleaning of the record (Anberlin: More to Living Than Being Alive) changed it in a way that I cannot put into words.  I hear depth, detail and life in the music in a way I never did before.

Thank you - if you commented at some point on this sub, I probably read your comments and they helped me get to here.  It's amazing.

It's nice of you letting others know they have helped you, I often say "I got help here", I am always thankful for all I have learned here since joining in 2019.

Taking advantage of your post:

I’m considering the HummingGuru Ultrasonic, just holding back because it seems so SMALL (an asset for me actually) compared to the larger, more expensive ones people love.

Comments:

Yay, just get one

Nay, I tried it, didn’t like it

Glad you're finding help, here!

Oh, for what it's worth -- the room/speaker positioning matters the most.

Proper record cleaning is the biggest upgrade, as I've often said. The cleaner, the better, but conversely, anything is better than nothing. Some of my records survived being played with a ceramic cartridge on a Philips one box record player in the 1960's, and even they are mostly silent after cleaning. I wouldn't have believed it possible until I found out for myself.

That’s what the forums are all about! Enjoy the music @ctlesq   And enjoy this hobby!

the type of post I really like to read.

Keep on spinning those records!
