Galion monoblock discovery

I have acquired the monoblock discovery using them for my Andra Eggleston speakers. To my surprised they are only 80watt and no problem running my Andra. Everything I have heard about the discovery on YouTube is right on the money.Thomas did a very good job voicing this amp. I truly enjoy listening to them , very musical, god bass, holographic and there is energy added to the music. Anyone here who own them has the same experience like mine. Thank you

I have the Discovery amps, a P75 and the Comet amp. Thomas builds very musical sounding components that punch way above their weight. Right now I’m using a $17k preamp with the Comet amp and it’s crazy good. I’ve had other solid state amps in the system that were more expensive and not nearly as enjoyable.

Jdal I totally agree, I have way more expensive amps but Galion amp are super good. I like the Comet but for the prize difference , the discovery is the way to go for my speakers 86 db.

The Comet and the Discovery amps put out the same wattage. The voicing is different. If I'm in the mood for Stravinsky or Bartok or Mahler, I prefer the Discovery amps. Same if I want to hear Tom Waits or Elliot Smith and similar artists. For a Bruckner symphony, with big brass sections, the Comet does a better job with it's energetic midrange. Same with jazz and classic rock.

Huff preferred the Comet in his video because he was using the Navy. My Emotive Epifania preamp is very resolving and is perfect for the Comet, but the P75 has more tonal density and a better with the Discovery amps.

Jdal that’s what I initially thought why I bought the discovery so I will no longer need the Navy preamp. My old LS1 audio research is matching well with the discovery. I agree with you the Galion p75 is the right match for the discovery. The Navy maybe it’s too much to pair with the discovery , One YouTuber said it you are not careful matching the navy can sound fatiguing. Thank you for your explanation  it truly make sense.
