Warped LP's

Hey,

So, are some pressings just warped from factory?

I had purchased Springsteen’s Letter to You from Amazon (double LP) and the first LP has a very visible warp/wobble to it, although it sounded fine.

But didn’t like that and so exchanged it for another and this one also seems to have a bit of a wobble to it although not as bad as the first one (same side).

Since it seems to sound ok, I will probably just stick with it.

Amazon packing seems pretty secure and safe so I don’t think it is on them although who knows how they are kept at their warehouse.

But wanted to inquire if this happens time to time.

Thnx

Speaking of turntable bearing noise being transmitted into LPs, what about tone arm bearing noise being transmitted into phono pickups?

I have never seen this mentioned before?

It is not something I worry about with my Holbo tangential air bearing tonearm!  The tonearm floats on a 10-micron thick layer of air, supplied by a low pressure, low volume pump that is inaudible.

The Well Tempered Arm was certainly a noiseless design. The WT turntable bearing's thread and silicon fluid-filled bath design too.

With the additional plinth area that @viridian described, there is more chance for resonance IMO
