Audio Signal Run Through a Banana


This article has been around a while but I thought it was pretty funny.  Running signal through mud, bananas, common wire, etc. in a blind listening test. 

I have expensive cables. I'm still not sure I have gotten value for my outlay. For sure not big value-  at least not like the radical change in my rig when I added Wilsons.

Forgot banana plugs.  How about the UC Santa Cruz banana slugs.  Now that’s high fidelity. 

Regardless of the material that carries the electrons, unless blind testing is done, there will be some bias. "Letting your ears decide" isn't scientifically valid. Also, claiming there's no reason to try and explain things because someon's mind is made up is pretty rich for this crowd.

I am 69 and holding and I still can easily tell the difference between those throw away RCA cables that used to come with CD players .  But it’s getting harder and harder to hear the difference between speaker cables and power cables. I can hear the difference between zip cord and and some speaker cables, but once you get to a certain level, I can’t and the same goes for power cables. I can hear the difference between zip cord and an $200 Audience F3 power cord, but give me a 2K cord and a 5K cord…
