Puritan PSM156

Hello All,

 I came across this product while searching Power Conditioners. Puritan PSM156.

 Does anyone have one, or, does anyone know anything about it, and how it would stand up to or even better the more popular and well known brands?

@audphile1 I've read MANY reviews and user experiences of the 156 and you seem to be the unicorn here. Maybe yours was defective or maybe your configuration was unique and caused problems! I've used 2 high quality and high current amps plugged directly in to the PSM-156 and noticed ZERO noise issues or current restrictions. I tend to trust the manufacturer over a random single person on the internet. Also if Puritan cared more about making money they would have just suggested to me to buy a 1512 that was well over $4000 instead of just  buying another 156.

@willywonka

I am sharing my experience with you all.

My unit was not defective. It worked fine but as stated I noticed reduced dynamics  Yes the noise floor was reduced. But it’s a cost I wasn’t willing to pay.
The icing on the cake / final nail in the puritan coffin, was when the 156 couldn’t handle the pass labs mono blocks that are way under the claimed current handling specs while in idle. It was tested without the amps in it, photographed and listed.
I understand I’m some random guy and I get it that you have more trust in the manufacturer than you do in my experience.

I’m happy to hear it works for you.

Been enjoying mine for a couple of years. Had a previous Coda integrated plugged in. never noticed any change/softening in dynamics. Currently have a couple of Laiv Ganm monos and seems to be working perfectly.

Was just at Axpona and noticed they make a plate with small out riggers for a vertical  orientation. $ 250 bucks I thought was a bit much. Anybody else with ideas?

Any forum members using the Ground master with it?  Grounding rod or their plug in?

I am using the Ground Master City and Route Master which have made my system quieter, although it did take some time hear it since it was gradual. Purchased from Jaguar Audio Design and they offer a 45-day return policy. I may eventually give the "Ultra City" a try when I have more funds to spare

I also have the PSM 1512 that I may be selling since it has way more outlets than I currently need.

Hey GRK,

 Are you using the Ground Master City or the Ground Master City Ultra?

Thank you,

Andy
