Warped LP's

Hey,

So, are some pressings just warped from factory?

I had purchased Springsteen’s Letter to You from Amazon (double LP) and the first LP has a very visible warp/wobble to it, although it sounded fine.

But didn’t like that and so exchanged it for another and this one also seems to have a bit of a wobble to it although not as bad as the first one (same side).

Since it seems to sound ok, I will probably just stick with it.

Amazon packing seems pretty secure and safe so I don’t think it is on them although who knows how they are kept at their warehouse.

But wanted to inquire if this happens time to time.

Thnx

@slaw their customer service seems to very good. They immediately sent the replacement out although how it’s the same issue 3+ years apart is puzzling.
Great album and excellent recording thanks to mastering by Kevin Gray.
Looking into New Moon Daughter next but that’s on Pure Pleasure and appears ti be full analog if I’m not mistaken…

a 4th blank side is nearly cruel, I hold grudges about that. A cute image, KMA!

they could have put a few oldies, or, they could have made it 45 rpm and used all 4 sides.

It’s been reported that during the record pressing process, removing the LP from the stamper early is another reason for warping. I tend to agree with this thought.
