Someone mentioned these to me -- just in concept, they seem they could be placed close to the front wall. https://www.jtrspeakers.com/jtr-kallos-265
One person commented, "Crazy good dynamic range in a shallow form factor." Seems reasonable.
I think your question really opens up a great topic -- I have multiple friends into audio who cannot pull their speakers very far off the front wall. That *begs* for some kind of design which accomplishes important sonic objectives without a lot of space. Here’s hoping some good suggestions are forthcoming.
Would Audio Note work in your space? Audio Note voices their speakers specifically for boundary reinforcement, typically recommending corner or near-corner placement. Their designs turn what’s usually a compromise into an intentional part of the tonal balance.
Another option might be Harbeth (P3ESR, perhaps) because Alan Shaw explicitly designs for near-wall positions.
Also, Larsen’s design philosophy centers on wall proximity; they’re meant to sit flush against the wall.
