Has anyone auditioned Focal Kanta 2 vs PS Audio FS 10’s ?

I’m narrowing down my search for a new pair of speakers . I have the PS Audio FR 5, and really like them, so,I’m thinking about moving up and getting the FR 10’s, but the Focal Kanta 2 looks interesting too. Has anyone listened to both of these ? What are your opinions?

i have a dedicated listening room (14’ x 26’) but due to a support column I must sit 12’ from the front wall.

Thanks to all responses.

I have experience with both the Kantas and Sopras.  The Sopras have less rough edges and better bass IMO.  If you can find some Sopras on the used market I would take a good look at those.  Sorry I can't weigh in on the FS10s but just wanted to mention the major SQ uptick you get with the Sopras.  Good luck and cheers.

Yes, I would love to get the Supra’s but they’re a bit too large for my room. (Deep and tall).

Thanks to others who replied.

I know the Focals only by reputation, which tends to be mixed in my experience. I know that some listeners love the speed and clarity Focals are known for, while others consider them too bright and edgy.

On the other hand, I have lived with the Aspen FR10s in my own system for more than a year, so I know them well. They sound very fast and transparent, while never sounding harsh or bright. Using planar-magnetic drivers for both the tweeter and midrange results in very natural and musical sound across a wide frequency range, and the use of multiple woofers and passive radiators creates a low end that is tight and impactful. Soundstage is wide and deep, and imaging is natural and realistic. The FR10s are fantastic speakers!

Thanks sdl4. I have the stand mount FR 5’s and I really like them too.

They play ”large” and throw a wide soundstage. Imagining is very good, and the image is tall ( 2 to 4 feet above the speakers)

I think it would be wise to stay with the PS 10’s because I’ve heard the same about the Focal’s being a bit bright and analytical.

The PS audios are musical and non-fatiguing .
