I read on Roon forums where this is related to Qobuz’s migration of files to new servers.
Roon Issues - Not able to play certain tracks
I have been running into this issue when Roon is in the radio mode where spontaneously it runs into a track it can’t play. It just sits there trying to play it.
When I go to that album and attempt to manually play that same track on Qobuz the result is the same - it won’t play. Plays other tracks from the albums just fine.
If I go back to Roon radio and skip that track the next song is played no issues.
No such problems with Tidal.
I have rebooted the Roon Nucleus One, rebooted my network, rebooted my DAC.
Even signed out of streaming services and signed back in. No bueno. This is in addition to it being sluggish and requiring an almost daily reboot to maintain sound quality and proper operating speed. Now this…
Anyone else with this problem?
@mclinnguy same track plays fine on qobuz and jplay streams it from Qobuz without issues. I find roon forums are full of fanboys that will always have something else to blame. When a database/dataset gets migrated from one environment to another you don’t leave users with random access. You cut over to new dataset when the migration is complete. Until then all users retain access to current dataset. It’s IT 101. You work with your partners to ensure continuity for your customer base. So the fairytale about the migration and pointing fingers to something/someone else is a typical blame game. Roon has issues. End of story. Quite frankly I’m fed up with this nonsense with Roon. The need to address their performance issues and that includes the garbage code they deploy. Cheap offshore IT workforce without proper oversight. This is just the beginning. Add AI to equation when these geniuses will start copy pasting AI generated code and deploying it for us to enjoy. Stock up on CDs and vinyl. |
@mapman yeah Ruin sucks man. Jplay even sounds better. Good thing I forgot when my free trial of jplay was over and I now have it for a year. Fifty bucks not as fancy as Ruin. At least it works. |
