I loved these guys too.  I also was totally unaware of their politics.  Lots of musicians and or singers from this era are leaving us.  John Mayall wrote a song called "All of my Heroes" which is all about this.

Dylan’s passing is going to be huge, surpassing all others, including Elvis Presley and John Lennon. THE single most consequential musical artist of the last half of the 20th century (and even into the 21st). You may disagree with that opinion, which is fine.

@bdp24 10,000% correct.  On one hand I acknowledge he is THE DUDE (because he is).  On the other hand, I loathe his nasal, incomprehensible lyrics, and ALL things boomer. 

The problem, as you so accurately point out - we have to celebrate them when they die, and this will be beyond anything we have ever seen.  And it simply exhausts me thinking about it.
