amp I bought 3 days ago not powering on - electrical engineer advice wanted

I bought a used Musical Fidelity A380 in good condition. Played it every day, worked fine.

Today it did not turn on. There were no sign of failure yesterday. Could it be a fuse or power supply?

mitch2 does the highbrow stuff; here we do the low comedy. Just like Shakespeare, but with broken amps 😂

you @thecarpathian don’t hijack my highly educational, extremely thoughtful post and conversation with silly Polish booze.

You jinxed my amp (it probably lives in my imagination only)

And you only live in my tiny head now. (Still, because of my tiny brain, there is lots of space for you.)

For the real people here: I called my tech several times yesterday and today. No answer. I went through stages of grief, I imagined he disappeared and my REAL amp is forever lost. But he finally answered a few hours ago and said he was still waiting for the battery.

regarding the booze, I don't think anyone above latitude 45 can make decent liqueur. With those cold winters they just need the punch.

So the OP was trying to purchase a higher quality amp at $400 but it died after days.

I’m wondering, with $400, can one purchase a higher quantity amp AND have some reasonable assurance of decent longevity? Unless the seller indicates low hours or recap the answer seems to be no assurance.
