Yes it’s not very reasonable I agree. But my experience with local repair shops has been consistent. I stopped buying equipment that I cannot get serviced at the manufacturer. And I stopped buying equipment made by anyone other than major brands that have been in business for a long time and have reputation for great service. This goes for cables as well. I don’t buy flavor of the month or some off the wall random stuff that is being hyped up…aka flavor of the month.
The CD player in question is vintage and the manufacturer can’t repair it. Hence the only option of getting it done at s local shop (authorized repair center by the way) or put it out by the curb which I had no guts to do…

I am not in the habit of asking folks about their gear just to turn around and bash it. I may bash gear sometimes, but never like that. That’s not my style. Having fixed some CDs myself I was just curious about yours is all. My ML No. 37 transport is built like a tank too, or at least like an armored vehicle. Took me more than 6 months to fix it. No worries. |
