amp I bought 3 days ago not powering on - electrical engineer advice wanted

I bought a used Musical Fidelity A380 in good condition. Played it every day, worked fine.

Today it did not turn on. There were no sign of failure yesterday. Could it be a fuse or power supply?

@audphile1 which brand / model CD player are you having fixed? Asking out of curiosity, I currently have four CD players needing various levels of attention :)

@devinplombier right now let’s not worry about that please.
I’ll do a reveal after I pick it up if I remember.
I can tell you that it did not fail because of poor workmanship or poor quality parts. It failed because it was time for it to fail. It is built like a tank and will hopefully last another 25 years after it’s fixed.

@audphile1

I am not in the habit of asking folks about their gear just to turn around and bash it. I may bash gear sometimes, but never like that. That’s not my style. Having fixed some CDs myself I was just curious about yours is all. My ML No. 37 transport is built like a tank too, or at least like an armored vehicle. Took me more than 6 months to fix it. No worries.

I’m hoping to pick it up this weekend if all audio repair stars align. I’ll post here when it’s in my possession.
