Do You Regret Selling Your Turntable and Albums ?

Gave the TT and the albums away in the late 90's.  Represented 30 years of record collecting.  Was getting re-married, was only playing CDs, and really didn't have the room (Queens NYC apartment).  Fifteen years later, I was buying TTs and collecting albums again (same Queens apartment).  Older now, almost 70, CDs and records everywhere.  Still not enough room.  Wife being very nice about it all, but quietly seethes.  Will have to thin down the herd at some point soon.  

Regrets ... no.  Repeating history ... yes.  You may not play the records, but do you like records a lot?  If yes, you will be collecting again at some point.

When you retire you will have a lot more time to spend listening to music, and messing with your system.

If they are in good shape, I would keep the LP’s, or weed them, keep what you might miss,

The TT, what have you got? If it was great you would be listening to it now, the fact that you are not answers that question: sell it! Get something later when you have time, or after you move in to your new space, if/when it works out ....

There are a lot of us old dogs, baby boomer generation, with a lot of great stuff, much will be coming on the market in a few years, as we are finding our children really don't want the stuff, especially vinyl, sooooo in several years, you will have the opportunity of lots of 'better' TT's, more so than today I think.

I sold too early, years ago, when I decided to focus on a single source.  Streaming wasn’t even yet on the horizon.  At first, I occasionally regretted that decision but I haven’t even thought about it for years now.  Honestly, had I kept my analog rig, probably the only thing I would use it for now would be a comparative sounding board to gauge the quality of my digital source. I do not miss handling and storing physical media.

Every once in a while when I’m streaming familiar albums that I once owned I wonder how my old analog setup would compare.  Then I remember the ritual I went through just to play a record and quickly start thinking about what more I can do to improve my digital front end.
