New. Hey SLS, did those replacements sound just as good? I’ve heard they were not generic parts nos., but tweaked for VS a bit. For me it’s the bass drivers giving out.

I don’t know about today, but the Audax midrange was still available a few years ago. One of them was making a noise that I thought was coming from the tweeter, so I replaced the tweeters with ScanSpeak tweeters that are better than the oem Vifa tweeters that are no longer available. I did find some NOS Vifa tweeters on eBay, but I prefer the ScanSpeak. It’s my understanding that the bass drivers were specially made for Von Schweikert and are no longer available. Mine are still good, so I didn’t look for a possible replacement. |
