Amir visit to Mike Lavigne place 2017

I happened to read Amir impression of Mike system during his visit unfiltered and no sugar coating.i like it .He seem very honest about it. Though I don’t always agree with Him.

@hilde45
Was that when the club did the tour of YG? I didn’t care for the sound either. I don’t think Mikes speakers are anything like the dry clinical sound of the YGs.

If the day came where I had the means to have a system like Mikes I would call him up first for a listen and consultation. I agree with @big_greg that his room probably sounds incredible.

happy listening !

@ronboco Yes.

I don't know what Mike's speakers sound like. I was just connect the description I mentioned with the effect experienced at YG.

You miss my point reading my post from a negative angle...

My point is any room acoustics must be ideally designed for a specific chosen system, and almost all room can be improved...Why ? Because acoustics/psycho-acoustics rule, not the speakers/amp ...Why is this so ? Because great Hall acoustics dont work like small room acoustics...

My point is written clearly but you choose not to read it but instead transforming my intention in an alleged stupid insinuating critic about Lavigne room ...

Learn how to read ...I wrote it clearly : acoustics rules ...

If you put the top system of Lavigne in a living room it will not work at peak level...

In the same way you can design completely again a new acoustic room around his last chosen system and it will be improved...

That was my point ... Not Lavigne  critic ... His system is one of the best if not the best on audiogon and it is why i picked it as example ... Ask him about acoustics importance and perhaps you will get it  ...

@mahgister  "Or better, put the same system in a room designed acoustically for it in an improved way...( i dont say that Lavigne actual room is bad here but it can be improved as everything can )"

Have you visited to be so self assured that it doesn’t meet your acoustical standards?

What I find interesting by reading Mike's comments in his system page is, he is still changing major parts of his equipment. Like selling his big towers to get horn speakers and moving on from multiple Dart Zeel pieces. It does show that even so he has reached what many would consider the pinnacle of sound,  upgraditis is a real medical condition.

As far as his room construction and acoustics are concerned, his methods played a major part in the building of my house of stereo and I will forever be grateful to him for having posted his process as referred to above by big_greg.
