These Grand Prix and Tough Nut racks are functional and tasteful IMHO and should perform well sonically as well. Best of luck in your search.
Console or other surface for amplifier and turntable
I'm wondering if anyone has any advice for sturdy and appealing consoles or racks for amps and turntables. A lot of the custom stuff I've seen includes storage for vinyl, the problem being that either it's nowhere near enough storage, or it's so much that the whole thing becomes ludicrous. Ideally I'd just have something solid but not too obtrusive to place in a central spot with the speakers placed in front toward either side. I can store my LPs elsewhere. Any advice much appreciated...

I recently bought a rack from Timbernation which replaced a Salamander Archetype 5 rack. The rack is made of four 2" solid tiger maple shelves that are 48" long, so plenty of room for equipment. It looks good (high WAF) and is very sturdy. There was about a 12 week lead time. https://www.timbernation.com/highendaudio-shop/p/the-wide-rack |
BDI have some very nice and well-made consoles, etc. All the cabs have vented shelves and vented front doors and back so your equipment won’t overheat. Solid and well made. They also do a good job of isolation and make for a stable turntable platform. I’ve used one for about 7 years now with no desire to replace it. Not the cheapest though.
