Aimee Mann

just saw her last night. Had to wait 26 years but it was worth it. She sounded as good as ever.

Beautiful, moving voice and songs...

'Magnolia' was awesome. And she used to be in a relationship for a short time with Al Jourgensen from Ministry back in the 1980's... I would have liked to have heard a musical collaboration from them....

I don't think $10 beer is ridiculous. I don't know any place where it costs less other than at the store/liqueur store. Those ticket prices are a bit high, the highest here was $99.

A few years ago I wanted to see Nathaniel Rateliff, the tickets started at $180. I looked into tour dates, in Vienna, Austria they cost $45. I asked my friends who live there, if the government subsidizes rock concerts, they said "no, we are just not crazy"

Still, I don't support $10 beer prices, I just saw too many $20 stickers for a Miller Light at the ballpark.

fun fact: her husband is the brother of the Penns. I despise talented and hard working people.

Aimee fans who haven't seen her acting as herself in on an episode of Portlandia would be well-advised to check it out. It's really funny.

"Elvis Costello is known for being stingy with his praise and liberal with his criticism. So when he chooses to champion a fellow singer-songwriter, it attracts attention.

This year he sang the praises of Aimee Mann in the English music press, saying he wished he’d written these opening lines to one of her recent songs: “Today’s the Fourth of July / Another June has gone by / And when they light up our town I just think what a waste of gunpowder and sky.”
