I read from her about 20 years ago that her voice was supposed to be the "simple" means to deliver the lyrics, she was just telling a story, the most neutral way she can. I think her range and tone makes it impossible not to make her voice the main act, it cuts through both water and marble. 

Unique in every way... knew her from Til Tuesday and Lansdowne Street in Boston in the mid-80s. A lovely person through & through. 

Looking forward to seeing Aimee on the 15th at the Neptune in Seattle. My first time seeing her and I’m a huge fan.
