Weiss DAC 501 Mark 1 Ethernet Verizon issue

Anyone out there have the Weiss DAC 501 Mk 1? I’m having trouble getting Quobuz or JPLAY to Recognize the Weiss DAC. Anyone out there have the same issues? I think it may be a Verizon issue as I have my Ethernet cable coming out of a Verizon extender into the Weiss DAC….

I was not aware that you could use the ethernet input for anything other than ROON. Can someone explain how you do that?

So yesterday I brought the Weiss upstairs and plugged it into my Main Router and was able to get the Weiss dac to recognize the Correct IP address. So I’m going to try and swap out the working Router with the non-working Extender in my basement where my stereo and DAC are. I’ll let u know. Verizon said there is no way to change the IP address on the Extender to match the upstairs Router. I spent an hour on Hold and then an hour on the phone with the Verizon rep to learn this & subsequently need a drink badly & I don’t really drink..lol

a glass of nice pinot or cab usually makes the music sound nicer too!!!

i did the upgrade to the weiss mainly to ’future proof’ the unit... i sent it to tmr in colorado and they had it back to me in about 10 days ... in my conversations with daniel w prior to this he did not lead me to believe it would be a night and day uptick sonically -- but i have been such a fan of the unit, its wonderful sound, how its bass management feature is so easy and so useful, the small form factor... i thought what the heck let’s just do it

if one is on a tighter budget, the upgrade can be skipped, there shouldn’t be a great deal of ’fomo’ here

I have a Weiss DAC501-MK2. I use it exclusively as a Roon endpoint with Qobuz. I have also tried Audirvana with Qobuz via the UPnP endpoint on the Weiss DAC. It has all worked flawlessly, although I gave up on Audirvana for the really poor user interface/experience vs. what I get with Roon.

In any case, I have no ethernet connectivity issues. I use AT&T gigabit fiber service.
