Quick DAC question

Thanks ahead of time for your patience on this one. If I am streaming Tidal through mConnect using my Oppo 105, then a coaxial cable into a Gustard r26 DAC, which DAC is actually being used? The one from the gustard or the one in the Oppo? I know I should run a physical ethernet cable into the gustard and just use the Oppo as a CD transport but that's going to be a last resort because of the location of my modem / router way down in the basement.

Personally if it’s in the budget I’d get a Eero Mesh system especially if there’s a good distance/walls between your router and listening room.  For extenders this TP Link had some very positive buzz here, and this Netgear extender (might be Mesh) was highly rated by Consumer Reports FWIW, but that’s all I got.  Hope this helps.

Update: Thanks to key advice from you all I went ahead and got a $140 pair of TpLink Deco 5000 mesh extenders. 20 minutes of fiddling and they were set up and connected via 6a ethernet cable to the Gustard. Warmed up the Rogue Cronus Magnum 2 and then started streaming some test tracks from Tidal.

The result? The R26 lives up to its accolades. Keep in mind I can only compare it to my previous Schiit Gungnir and, before that, the Oppo 105s internal DAC, but it definitely is sonically superior as its reputation establishes. Now, is the difference in sound between an ethernet connection and the 105's own internal renderer that much question to an extent, yes. Is it worth the money I spent on the mesh extenders? I'll keep telling myself that it is. Anyhow, thanks to all for helping me get that sorted out.
