MSB Technology -- the "best" digital can get?

I don’t go to hifi shows or high end salons, and have never personally heard very high-end DACs (or CD players).

But the MSB Technology Sentinel DAC, at $375K USD, might be worth a listen.

There is a 2025 factory tour video of MSB on YouTube. They spend a lot of time on milling and using space-age machines for pick-and-place, etc. But there is absolutely no mention of the discrete DAC models MSB has been "perfecting" since the early 90s.

I have no idea  whom the Sentinel is intended for other than top CEOs, billionaires, et. al.

And does it really, sonically approach, say, a $10K vinyl or open-reel system?

It'll be decades before Topping comes up with anything competitive. Two years ago, someone said the signs of the HoloAudio May KTE was the sound of an Audio Note dac about 15 years prior.

@hollowman , "Let me know if you wanna see more ..."

The Magnavox CD player in the first two photos, third one down from the top, and second from the bottom, looks like my mint-condition CDB-560.  And sure, I wanna see more.

I have two Mag. CD-650 also, and about 70 (!!) other CDPs, mostly  1985-1992 era.

Modded units with the classic Philips multibit chipset were favorites, but in the last few years,  the when I  began exploring vintage NEC and other Japanese units with the Burr-Brown chips ... well, now I’m not so sure about Philips being top dog.

Some of the early 90s MASH, Bitstream and JVC P.E.M. D.D.  DACs were decent, too, but they sound DIFFERENT from multi-bit.

Since were talking high-end units with MSB, in the topic, recall that Jadis, used Philips Bitstream DACs in their top end units.
