Hilde,
Fritz normally travels with a handful of acoustic panels when he does shows. They do pretty well normally but sound bigger with a little treatment.

Sound Quality

- Excellent low-volume performance; reveals recording quality
Performance Comparisons
- More detailed than reference Buchardt S400 Mark I speakers
- S400s offer more aggressive bass; Carbon 7s provide superior width and detail
Amplification & Recommendations
- Efficient design pairs well across all amplifier types (tube, solid-state, Class D)
- 30-75 watts sufficient; quality matters more than power
- Room placement important
I ran a set of Carbon 7s at AXPONA a couple of years ago with our class Ds. They worked quite well. I use a set of Carbon 6s in my bedroom system with a small tube amp that makes only 5W/channel. I really have no complaints; very musical speaker, easy to live with; detailed but not bright despite having good extension on top. The two models are very similar with a bit more bottom end out of the Carbon 7s. |
Thanks @erik_squires and @atmasphere I tried the Fritz with the ST-35 you encouraged me to try and it did quite well. I also tried it with the NAD m23 and AGD Audion class D amps. They lit up in a really delightful way. I'd love to hear them with your Class D amp someday! |
